Apex Laboratories Ltd was established in 1978 by a group of pharmaceutical executives and was later acquired by Mr S. S. Vanangamudi in 1982. ALPL is primarily engaged in the manufacturing of Zinc-based formulations and caters to various therapeutic segments such as nutraceuticals, haematinics, anti-emetics, anti-infective, dermatologicals and various other chronic therapy segments. The manufacturing facility of ALPL is situated at Alathur, Chennai. The company had an installed capacity to manufacture 1220 million pieces of tablets, 222 million pieces of capsules, 17.80 million pieces of topicals per annum and 85.70 million pieces of liquids.
