Sumithra Laboratories is planning to set up a chemicals unit in Udumulapadu village in Dhone Mandal in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. The project involves setting up manufacturing facilities to produce synthetic organic dyes and bulk drugs. It will produce Etodolac, Lamivudine, Carbidopa, Telmisartan, Rabeprazole Sodium, Zileuton, Pregabaline besides other intermediates. The new unit has a production capacity of 103 tpm. The project cost is estimated at ₹ 200 million. Land required for the project is already available. As of January 2019, the project is in planning stage.
